Cake in a Box: Asian Influence

I finally decided to use the Ginger Blossom Designer Paper even though it is retired........it fits this project perfectly!

Here's the close-up photo of the lid: A single layer cake is topped with die cut butterflies, silk flowers, and die cut leaves. The cake sits on top of an Octagon shaped platter. Small silk flowers are nestled at the base of the butterflies.

Below photo with the lid removed, slightly revealing inside:

Top view of inside with lid removed. See how sides "wrap around" to form a box:

Top view of the box completely opened:

View of the cake in the center:

Front and back view of the cake. Butterflies and die cut leaves along with silk flowers embellish this cake.
Close-up view of the top right/left corner and bottom right/left corners. Octagon shape are die cut and then stamped. A photo can easily be positioned in these sections.

This is a close-up of the stamps used for the bottom center section. Stamp the image in Black ink, then stamp the designer paper-cut out and adhere as shown.

This is the Fan Stamp used for the top center section. Stamp in black ink on the Real Red, then stamp on the Designer Paper, cut out, adhere as shown.

This photo shows the template I made before the actual words were stamped positioned (gotta plan!). The words were stamped, punched out using 1-1/4" Square punch, then Tag corner punch used.

Here's all the Asian Word stamps used (from http://www.stampmagick.com/)
Supplies:
  • Stamps: Embrace Life (SU) , Fan (Asian Image ), Round Lantern (Hot Potatoes), Long Lantern (Design in Squares), Asian Words (Stampmagick)
  • CS: Ginger Blossom Designer Paper (retired from 2008), River Rock (retired), Cameo Coral, Old Olive, Kiwi Kiss, Real Red.
  • Ink: Black
  • Accys: Small Octagons (Nestibilities), Tag Corner Punch, 1-1/4" Square Punch, Big Shot Pop-Up Cake Die, SU Exclusive Big Shot Beautiful Butterflies Die, SU Exclusive Little Leaves Die, Sticky Tape, Dimensionals.

Thanks so much for popping in today............xoxo.
